Formentera restaurant guide

Formentera is undoubtedly an island with some of the best beaches in the world. But behind the sun, sand and crystal clear waters, another of Formentera’s great pleasures is its gastronomy. We recommend that you do not spend a holiday on the island without trying some of its traditional dishes and drinks as well as visiting some of the best-known restaurants and beach bars.

Traditional products:
In Formentera we can buy some traditional products made 100% on the island, such as Peix Sec (dried fish), the main ingredient of the famous country salad. Liquid salt, different varieties of wine, honey, fruits such as dried figs, almonds. Fresh cheese from the island, or the famous and very typical Formentera herbal liqueur.

Dishes and recipes:
There are some traditional dishes that we believe are essential if you travel to Formentera, to be able to taste the authentic flavor of the island: Peasant salad, squid a la bruta, fried octopus, fish stew (bullit de peix), fried potatoes with eggs and lobster, raors (typical fish), or desserts such as flaó, buñuelos or greixonera.
