How many days to stay in Formentera

Formentera is one of the smallest islands that make up the Balearic Islands with 82 square km and a maximum distance on its main road of 22 km. However, once we are there we can find and enjoy a large number of beaches, coves, , corners and interior paths that will make Formentera seem much bigger than it is.

Many people want to be in Ibiza and make a day visit to Formentera, but for us that is insignificant and as a general rule it only serves to get to know the port a little and perhaps one or two beaches.

Our advice for coming on vacation to Formentera is a stay of at least 4-5 days where we can safely get to know the best of the island. With 5 days we will be able to enjoy practically all of its beaches or the best, get to know the interior and the towns a little, enjoy some craft markets and get to know the nightlife and restaurants of the island.

The first thing before arriving in Formentera is to have 3 services reserved online in advance to ensure the best offers and prices. These are three services that always offer better prices for online reservations than if we book them on the same island, such as the ferry ticket between Ibiza and Formentera or renting a vehicle. On the other hand, accommodation is essential before entering the island.

Here we leave you these links with price search engines, offers and availability of these three necessary services:

What to visit in Formentera in 5 days

Three must-see sections in Formentera would be its beaches, lighthouses and towns.

Some of the best beaches that we should know are Illetas beach, els Arenals and the entire Migjorn area, Cala Saona, Ses Platgetes and the Levante beaches. Without a doubt visit its two most well-known and magical lighthouses: the Mola lighthouse and the Es Cap de Barbaria lighthouse and of course take a walk through its towns; Sant Francesc, the port of La Savina, La Mola, Sant Ferran, the small area of Es Caló and the most touristy town of all Es Pujols. They all have something special in their own way.

We always recommend visiting the towns or enjoying the green routes of Formentera either by bicycle or walking and not limiting yourself only to the island’s beaches, which, although some of the best in the Mediterranean, are not all there is in Formentera.
