The entire Migjorn area (South) from Rte. Pelayo until practically the climb to La Mola is made up of beaches, some areas of rocks and coves of white sand that are very beautiful and easily accessible.
Ca Mari Beach
Ca Marí beach is located in the Migjorn area, one of the largest sandy areas of Formentera since it occupies practically the entire southern part of the island. It is a beach with very easy access since you can practically reach the sand by car or motorcycle.
It is a beach with a lot of sand and many times also with remains of posidonia brought by the sea currents, it is a beach made up of small shells where we can find services of hammocks, umbrellas and restaurants.

Es Còdol Foradat

Es Arenals
Arenals beach is one of the last great beaches in the Migjorn area and one of the most beautiful and also the most visited, so it is normal that it is always full of people, on this beach we can find, as in the entire part of Migjorn parking services, hammocks, umbrellas, kiosks, restaurants, walkways for disabled people and rental for the practice of water sports.
To get to Arenals beach we must cross practically the entire island until we almost reach the area of Es Caló, about 300 meters before Es Caló we will see a very well signposted detour that will not indicate Arenals beach, turning to the right, from There, following a paved road, we can reach several points in the Arenals area; all of them essential for a complete visit to the Migjorn area.

It is a beautiful beach and a must-see in Formentera. In addition, from Es Arenals we have an incredible view of La Mola and we can take a long walk to another great beach, Es Calo d’Es Mort. Another thing to keep in mind on this beach and the entire Migjorn area is the currents, it is not highly recommended to swim very far since the currents in this area tend to drag you away… but it is only a recommendation since It is a normally quiet, crystalline beach and highly recommended.
Es Cupinar
This is the last beach in the Migjorn area, just before going up to La Mola, to access it we can walk quietly from Es Arenals beach, or go by car or motorcycle from the same main road, to find it alone We must go along the road passing Es Caló and taking the detour to the right of Club Maryland, from there we can leave the vehicle and walk along the sand or along the coast until we reach the end of the beach.
In this area, as in the entire Migjorn area, we have parking services, restaurants, kiosks, hammocks and umbrellas, among others. It is a very beautiful and recommended area.
A very common route could be to visit this beach in the afternoon, enjoy the incredible sunset behind Es Cap and later, since we are in this area, go up to La Mola to enjoy the La Mola craft market that is held every year. on Wednesdays and Sundays.
It is a very quiet beach where we can find the Bartolo kiosk, a kiosk that is undoubtedly the smallest, most authentic and closest to the beach in all of Formentera, since its tiny terrace is located just above the sand a few meters from the sea; perfect for a good beer combined with the aroma of the sea in front of us.
Es Caló d'Es Mort
If there are must-sees on the island of Formentera, this is undoubtedly one of them; a tiny cove located right on the rise of La Mola, mythical for its isolation and tranquility, not to mention the incredible natural landscape that surrounds it. It is a cove of just 70 meters where it is better to go early to secure a place on the sand and to have as much time as possible to enjoy the cove and all its natural surroundings.
From this cove you can take some of the best excursions along the coast of Formentera, from taking a leisurely walk along the entire Migjorn coast to taking the small trails that go towards the climb of La Mola, the area of Es Ram or S’Estufador. As we already said, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas of the island.
Due to its small isolation, we recommend bringing with us some food to snack and something to drink, so we can enjoy the cove without having to make long walks to the nearest kiosk or restaurant, on this beach we do not have any restaurant service, No umbrellas, no hammocks and access can be a little complicated for people with disabilities, even so with a little effort we recommend this visit.
As in previous areas of Migjorn, it is a good place to enjoy a swim, an intimate sunset and finally, thanks to its proximity, go up to La Mola to enjoy the craft market that is held every Wednesday and Sunday at sunset. , including live music.
To access Es Calo d’Es Mort, we have to take the Maryland detour just before going up to La Mola and follow the path until the end; In the Maryland area there is a restaurant called Casa Blanca, right next to it there is a sand path that passes behind and takes us to Es Calo d’Es Mort.
