Levante beaches

The entire Levante (East) area from the town of Es Pujols to the northern tip of Formentera is made up of different very beautiful and easily accessible beaches and coves.

Also located at the northern tip of the island, but in the eastern area, as its name indicates, it is one of the largest and most visited beaches in Formentera with views of the small island of S’Espardell.

It is a large beach and, although it is the closest area to Illetes and therefore quite busy, due to its length it is possible to find quieter and more secluded places, although naturally, there is no shortage of restaurants, kiosks and hammock services and umbrellas, and its proximity to Illetes allows you to explore on foot all the beaches in the north of the island to visit one of the most beautiful areas of Formentera in just one day.

To access this beach you have to enter the Illetas area by paying a toll unless you go on foot or in an ecological vehicle such as bicycles or electric vehicles.
You have to get to the Es Molí de Sal Restaurant and a few meters away we have a detour on the road, continuing straight we go towards Illetas but if we take the detour to the right we go directly and without loss to Tanga beach, also located like all of these beaches within Ses Salines de Formentera; natural Park.

On this one, as on practically all the beaches of Formentera, there are wooden walkways to protect the dune system and to facilitate entry for disabled people.

Sa Roqueta

Sa Roqueta

Small sandy cove between Es Pujols beach and Levante beach, one of the smallest and quietest coves on the island of Formentera.

If we take the road around Estany Pudent or Salines de Formentera and which is between the port of La Savina and the area of Es Pujols, we find a well-marked detour that takes us to this small and unknown cove, it is a highly recommended visit. Because of its cleanliness and because it is not a crowded place unlike other beaches in Formentera, if you don’t want to get lost, you just have to turn at the detour that is right next to the only store that is attached to the road on this route.

Es Pujols beach

Magnificent beach located in the tourist area of Es Pujols, where we can find all the services: accommodation, shopping, restaurants, water sports and much more, since it is one of the only beaches in Formentera that is directly connected to an urban area. Apart from being the most touristy and atmospheric urban area on the island of Formentera.

It is separated from the residential area by a pedestrian promenade where at dusk they set up “hippie” souvenir stalls. Es Pujols beach is made up of stretches of beach alternating with stretches of low rock where the fishermen’s huts are located where they keep their boats.

In front of the beach you can see small islets, which offer beautiful views. A quiet beach for the whole family to enjoy. There is also a ramp and chair adapted for the bathroom of disabled people, apart from the rental of catamarans and all kinds of services for practicing water sports. It is undoubtedly the best-known beach since until very recently one of Formentera’s Flower Power parties was held on the same sand.
